It is very proud to mention that our Sharanbasveshwara College Library was established way back in 1973 being the second largest independent library in Karnataka State. The Library is recently renamed as Dr. D C Pavate Library, Who was the renowned educationalist. Collection has more than 75,000 books; we can proudly claim to have one of the best and largest collections of books among colleges in Kalyana Karnataka region. Our library also has subscription to more than 25 journals/magazines and 07 Newspapers catering to diverse interests. Automated its in-house activities and services using E-LIB, integrated library management software version of 16.2. Digital Library 45 computer systems are installed, for supporting e-Learning and Teaching, access is made available to INFLIBNET (Information Library Network), N-List consortium e-resources (6,000+ e-journals, 31, 35,000+ e-books & various databases), Internet and
e-learning, various course materials, Remote access facility, Virtual Reference through, Career Planning and User Sensitization Programs are a few unique services rendered to promote the optimum use of library resources. Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) access is available in reading section.
It houses copious collection of resources namely -Books (Text, Reference and General), Booklets, Dictionaries,
Directories, Thesauri, Encyclopedias (subject and General), Journals, Magazines, Newspapers, e-resources(N-LIST),
Theses, Dissertations, Old Question Papers, Model answers (of rank students obtained from University) etc. covering a wide gamut of Commerce and Allied Subjects.
The library boasts of nearly 39000 and odd resources to cater to its user base of students, staff and faculty.
Library follows open access system to enable users to choose books without any let or hindrance according to their own tastes,
intellectual and grasping abilities. Students are permitted to borrow up to 3 books for a period of seven days which is extendable
in case there is no demand from other users of the library and the staff are allowed to borrow as many books as they want.
In order not to inconvenience and handicap the students for want of books during exams, students are allowed to hold the library books they have against a nominal deposit amount.
Library has also taken up the digitization of Question Papers and sending the same to the different users on their WhatsApp group and also on their personal whatsapp or email on request for the same.
As the library is located on the first floor, ramp is provided for Differently Abled (Divyang Jan) to make it easily accessible for all.
library is equipped with 100mbps wi-fi connection for seamless internet accessibility for all user.
The Timings of the Library is as below
- On working days : 08.30 to 05.30 pm
- On holidays : 10.00 to 02.00pm
- Before examination days : 08.30 to 09.00 pm
- During examination days : 08.30 to 09.00 pm
- During vacation : 09.30 to 02.30 pm
